Direct the team in charge of preparation of all process feasibility studies and conceptual designs, provide advice and direction during the design work. Ensure that all necessary input from process team related to data, information and design support is provided to operation. Review and approve all completed designs prior to their release inclusive of cost estimates and scope of work. Liaise with other engineering staff to provide technical advice on queries and/or provide additional support as required.
Receive and approve a variety of process modification requests and manage the provision of required engineering input for their implementation. Review process modification requests to assess their technical content and the problems/recommendation highlighted therein.
Manage the setting of specifications and ensure designs/modifications are cost effective and compatible with requirements. Ensure adherence of design to International Codes and Standards, , and HSE&S requirements. Carry out technical evaluation of consultants/contractors/vendors bids and recommend a successful bidder.
Take the full responsibility and ownership of DEL GS relevant codes related to process and being the technical authority in the company for all process related matters and provide expert technical advice on process engineering matters to the Operations and Projects divisions, as and when requested. And recommend means of increasing productivity, safety, integrity, reducing costs etc whenever possible to provide maximum benefit to Company.
Manage the execution of all multidisciplinary development studies (in-house or contracted) at preliminary level, conceptual stage, and pre-FEED stage for minor and major projects. Manage preparation of business cases and management endorsement. Ensure Process Engineering team participation in the performance test and review of the test results of the Upstream projects to ensure the project objectives are fulfilled.
Provide effective guidance to the concerned department/engineers in site modification process (PTW, ICSS,SOW) through being consulted on method statement, task risk assessment, defining and approval of SOW for fully automation system related PIPs. Interact with the Operations team and provide technically sound solutions to resolve the problems and advise them on optimization of process parameters to ensure smooth operation of the plant.
Manage and overseen the execution of projects from feasibility studies, FEED stage, detailed engineering, construction, and commissions, either by utilizing the local resources and/or using outside contractors and consultants. Guide Engineering Contractors to ensure project requirements are clearly understood and meeting the required standards and specifications. And ensure that the process engineering team is timely reviewing and approving the project deliverables to avoid any delay in project implementation.
Manage and guide specialized materials, catalysts, and chemicals qualification for contract/bids. Ensure preparation of Scope of Work for tendering of catalysts and chemicals, technical bid evaluation and necessary support to concerned disciplines for materials purchase.
Lead and contribute towards HAZOP reviews, project safety reviews, technical audits, and value engineering during various phases of project implementation. Review the punch items and ensure that they are addressed, implemented, and closed to meet the project requirements.
Track and communicate results and create an environment for accountability for results and actions and assist in promoting the implementation of best practices.
Manage the update of process documents, P&IDs, operating procedure, and manual including start-up and shutdown procedures following the implementation of the modification projects in compliance to company . 3 of 5 Senior Manager Process Engineering JD Management of Change (MOFC) Process
As a member of MOFC review committee member, effectively execute MOFC process for Engineering Service Request (acceptance of ESRs and initiation of Facility Modification Proposal -FMP-) for multidiscipline study, Design Change Requests (DCN) and PIP (Project Implementation Phase) for multidiscipline projects.
Manage and control the schedule as per approved plan and direct the team to develop and achieve their own plans with no delay to complete the ESR/FMP. Take full responsibility in raising and controlling the Project Change Request (PCR) in line with issued procedures and guidelines. Project Interface & Stakeholder Management
Liaise closely with internal technical and production teams to identify, plan and coordinate activities to be performed during major plant/facilities shutdowns. Ensure quality development of relevant Process Engineering KPIs, S[1]Curves, and reporting for all activities under his leadership and in line with TSU various plans and strategies.
Liaise closely with the technical team of Qatar Energy on various technical matters related to design, operation and performance of the company facilities.
Liaise with other Oil & Gas operating companies to review and receive their feedback on various technical and operational issues being encountered by company and also interact with them for technical information exchange.
Perform other similar or related duties as required or assigned by the Director Engineering.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE Minimum Educational Requirements /

Qualifications: Degree in chemical engineering or in other relevant Engineering field. Any relevant certification/ diploma in oil & gas process management or equivalent would be an advantage.

Minimum Experience: 12 process engineering including at least 5 years in positions of progressively increasing managerial responsibilities.

Skills and Competencies:

Sound technical background, knowledge and understanding of Oil & Gas engineering practices In depth knowledge in Process Engineering methodologies including conceptual designs, artwork and design works best practices.
Hands on work experience and solid knowledge in Feasibility Studies.
Solid knowledge on risk management methodologies. Anticipate and meet the need of both internal & external customers.
Good degree of competency in people skills and listening skills, both of which are aimed at getting the best performance out of the team.
